Weddings are a sacred day for everyone to cherish. A traditional wedding ceremony has a focal point – a stage where the couple conducts the seven circuits of the “Holy Fire” and a lot more traditions. The wonderful thing about traditions though, is that they are very flexible and these days its not uncommon for couples to alter the rituals to fit their unique personalities.

For starters, you now choose your own life partners whereas before it was the parents who did so. New customs everyday, creating an endless number of ways to celebrate your nuptials.

Well, merging new age traditions with the old customs is where we as wedding planners barge in with the creativity. Below are some of the ways how weddings have changed.

Mehendi function is the very start of a wedding wherein the bride decorates her hand and feet with henna. Contemporary brides have now started making tattoos out of it on the navel, armlets, etc. And also with the instagram reels, and ganna shots and all the social media coverage, there is now a dress code for every ritual. Wearing green is the one for Mehendi.

Using hashtags made out of the names of the couples is another trendiest change that we have witnessed gaining popularity. Incorporating the same hashtag in the wedding decor too has now become a ritual in itself.

Next comes the sangeet, which is now getting influenced by the dash of western culture. It was traditionally a ceremony where the bride and groom, with their families and friends, danced all through the evening forgetting about all the worries about the arrangements. Now, its more like a coordinated ceremony where choreographers are hired, performances listed with an anchor, and sometimes all of it is replaced with lavish cocktail parties with celebrity presence and couple games.

Reception has an all new twist of cutting cakes like the weddings in the west. And not to forget, eco-friendly weddings are a whole new concept that has been gaining a lot of attention these days so we will soon be posting a whole another blog for the same. Feel free to contact us for more ideas to curate a wedding that is uniquely yours. We say that a lot because for us your wedding not just a deal, we put in efforts not to earn but to make it day of your life which is as beautiful as life
