/  Design   /  Tips to plan your destination wedding

As lucrative as the complete concept of destination wedding sounds, its execution is equally laborious. For wedding miles away from your home you’d have to take care of some important details. Otherwise, your definition of “desired wedding” can turn into something totally different. And that’s exactly why we feel it’s crucial to note some tips that are must to know before jetting off on a foreign land for marrying your love.

Choose the most resourceful location
Of course if you are planning for your destination wedding you’d have to list down at the least five options. Such a list can be made by blending:
a) Some choices that you know are hot favorite for destination weddings.
b) Some alternatives that you have no idea about – sort of unexplored spaces.
c) Some options that you’ve went to and noticed the beauty.
After making such a list, do not end up choosing a venue wherein you and your partner’s family members are the only ones for whom the resources can suffice. Instead choose a place that has; if not plenty, then at least enough resources to fulfill needs of guests that you are planning to invite to your wedding.

Meet the vendors that are going to handle different departments during wedding
Floral, make up, décor, catering, are the chief pillars on which your wedding will stand upon. If possible, meet with the department heads of each every one of these pillars. Get to know that person and build a rapport with the same. Share contacts with that person so that at least you know whom to call in case of uncertainties.
Wedding is an event which requires lots of planning. And even after that, there would be some or the other impromptu popping up at the last moment. So, always keep a room for that.

Keep separate budget category titled #unexpected expenses
Although destination weddings are known to be more budget-friendly, as mentioned above always be prepared for random expenses. Not that they are surely to come over, but if you’ve planned for it in advance you’d be surprised instead of shocked!
Say for example, you forgot to include a welcome party that’ll give a little bit of time for the guests to get comfortable with each other. What then? You’ll have to arrange for it, there an then right? And for these kinds of expenses, it’s advisable to¬ keep the cash handy.

Visit the venue in advance
Of course you’d visit the venue at the time of booking it. Then the second time, it’s recommended to visit it three to four months before your wedding date. If you cannot arrange the second time, make sure that you are at the venue at least a week before the wedding date. This will give you a time to be comfortable with the aesthetics of that place. Additionally, it will boost you up to serve your guests in a better manner. And you’d not have to go on asking the authorities over there about what’s where and other stuffs.

Notification to the guests
Ideally, experts advise you to mail save-the-dates to your guests anywhere from eight to twelve months before the wedding. And the official invites should be sent to them at least three to four months before the wedding.
